Just remind me what's the big deal with celibacy? I'm sure I was told in primary school (something to do with being married to god, or is that nuns *). Fucked if I can figure out the point of it.

*Another complete waste of space

I asked them to read Matthew 7 before posting any new petitions.. It talks about the speck and the log in someone's eye.

The great irony of Mowls graphic solution to righting wrongs in the ol'bilical style of an eye for an eye, is that the same clergy would demand "justice" for one of their own being bummed forcibly. But the same beauts played three parish perve shuffle with horrific results.

I agree entirely. But who amongst us is sick enough to rape a priest? I mean the full-on, loob-free, blood and shit everywhere, violent anal rape of a tied-down priest? I wonder how long it would take before the police start an all-out investigation of that type of horror? Or our political elite move to introduce tough new measures to deal with the scourge of priest rape?

I find myself getting angrier by the day at these arrogant hypocritical fools. How much longer must the people of this island suffer at their hands.
If the govt. and gardai refuse to act then how long before people start taking justice into their own hands?

There is no sign of any realisation of the enormity of the damage they have done to the individuals abused and destroyed.
Any individual who confronted the head honchos with abuse issues(v few) were removed or smeared.
Its all about damage limitation.
And nothing else.
And to be candid would you expect any different?
Its a corporate entity .
The original of the species.

Like Conans revelation above, myself and two buddies were still in knee pants when this cowboy rode into town. I recall very clearly his daily drive-by through our streets in his BMW as we played football, the mowl and relivio.

http://homepage.eircom.net/~zzedx/news251102.htm

One time he came and asked our parents permission to allow us accompany him to a performance of 'The All Priests Show' at The Hermitage golf club. Michael Cleary was the main attraction, while Tony Walsh was second billing as Elvis. He sat us in the wings as he did his thing: from that vantage point we could see all the suits and ballgowns in the front row, and they, quite clearly, saw us too.

After his performance, he took us back to his priests accomodation, fed us Coke and cookies, and then left briefly to run an errand. We legged it, giggling that he never got his hands on us, and that we got our Coke and cookies for free.

But that same room saw some terrible things happen to other children whom I knew personally. Eventually they had to demolish it, as the memories contained were too much for some survivors of his sexual abuse. They replaced it with old-folks accomodation, and named it after a priest.

From the linked article:

'Tony Walsh was told to stay away from the funeral the day before he sexually assaulted the boy it has emerged. Speaking on RTE's Liveline programme Fr Eamon Clarke, a priest of St Philomena's parish at the time of the 1995 assault, said two priests instructed the defrocked Walsh to stay away from the funeral the next day when he attended the removal in clerical dress. Fr Clarke said: 'he attended in full clerical garb with a Roman collar. We thought he was a friend of the family. We could not make a public scene because we knew he was under suspicion and investigation. but he was entitled to due process. After the removal we told him he was not to attend the funeral and he could not concelebrate the Mass.'
The most shocking thing said Fr Clarke, was that Walsh then attended the funeral and went with the family to a reception afterwards, where he assaulted the boy in the toilet of a pub.'

When they incarcerated him to The Curragh, he was known as a 'watcher' who would stand in the shower rooms and watch the other priests blowing and buggering each other. He's since been released.
