Willie turns out to be a Cunt
Posted on | February 18, 2010 | 76 Comments
Willie O’Dea has resigned. Here’s his resignation letter (via The Story). Here’s the pathetic Green response, as pitiful an attempt to save face as you’ll ever see.
It just calls into credibility … again … this whole government who gave O’Dea a vote of confidence barely 24 hours ago.
I’m glad he’s gone, he’s nasty little toad who has just had the smirk well and truly wiped off his face. Let’s hope he is the first in the house of cards.

He’s a fucking toolbox alright. There’s no way the Greens can continue in Government after yesterday, they’ve lost all credibility.
February 18th, 2010 @ 9:47 pm
Only in Ireland could there be a vote of confidence in a mininster followed by resignation within 24 hours.
And by Ireland I mean Fianna Fail.

Shady smug merchant.
Who’s for storming the bastille? Kill em all.

…pitiful an attempt to save face as you’ll ever see…
Cringe-worthy.
Not too mention Willie’s resignation letter where he maintains (again) he did nothing wrong.

I asked this elsewhere before I saw that a new thread had started:
OK – O’Dea was FF and in a shit Government – but as on outsider looks to me as if he was fairly innocuous and unimportant as Minister for Armed Forces. Harney on the other hand I can see as a big target ( no pun intended ) because of the Health service problems – Am I missing something about O’Dea or was it just that he was vulnerable ? Had a look at Wikipedia – OK, I know it’s not terribly reliable, but I don’t see anything terrible and at least he was opposed to Haughey ?
February 18th, 2010 @ 10:35 pm
O’Dea was on the blanket in the blocks back in 1980. His crime? He gave an orangeman a dirty look and got 12 months for his trouble.

Ehh.

Been there, got the t-shirt twenty. In reverse. It was in Bangkok, a club called Spanky’s. I was very drunk, boogeying to some dj and I had a little rub with the lady when lo and behold I felt something funny….

That picture of Gormley on the Green site – look at it for a few seconds and once you get past the insincerity of the “smile” it starts to become really rather sinister.
February 18th, 2010 @ 11:43 pm
This is fucking excellent.
I love the smell of Clinton in the morning.
Gormless showed himself as exactly the toad he is.

That is a pretty big deal about O’Dea all right.
February 19th, 2010 @ 1:11 am
Delighted that O’Dea has gone… the smirking little Prick always came out and fought Berties corner when the heat was on. Karma is a great thing…
Lets hope that one by one the righteous and indignant Cunts in power fall on their sword.

Its time to take out the rest of the thrash.
February 19th, 2010 @ 8:21 am
Much as I despise the greens, I actually think they got this one right- as usual it’s the failers who showed themselves for what they are with that no-confidence confidence trick they tried to pull. Is it possible there’s actually a shred of accountability seeping into the dail? first o’donohue now o’dea- the more of these fuckers are called to account, the more the rest of them will be less sure of their infallibility. Either way it was nice to see the little shit-eating grin wiped of his face.
February 19th, 2010 @ 8:44 am
2 reshuffles and 6 months down the line he’ll be back.

1 down
17 FUCKWITS to go
bring down the Government
February 19th, 2010 @ 9:20 am
I think that there’s been a change in strategy by Fine Gael. Up to recently they’ve been doing the old lie in the long grass and watch the government struggle and its poll returns drop- commit to nothing- oppose by sitting on the bench.
Suddenly I think Fine Gael have realised from polls (there were a few lately) that showed they were becoming tainted by not clearly and loudly opposing.
The gloves are off now and the interesting thing also is that SF and Labour appear to be doing the sniping while FG limber up for procedural ambushes like we saw this week.
FF were celebrating in Foleys on Wednesday night the bould Willie and his ‘thricks’, 24 hrs later Cowen, Gormley and Co have given Willie the vote of confidence in the Dail and then the political IED went off in their faces.
I’m convinced there was some clever orchestration at the bottom of all this and for the first time in ages FF walked straight into a trap.
Great stuff. Coughlan next? Or Ahern? Hopefully Ahern as there’s plently to work with and no point wasting powder on a shambles like Coughlan as she’s quite likely to implode all by herself.
Only one winner in FF this week- Micheal Martin;)
February 19th, 2010 @ 9:23 am
If I were a Fine Gael strategist I’d be checking all FF spokespeople and front bench’s professional qualifications. There are a few claims (O’Dea being one of them) where published qualifications and membership of professional bodies should be checked.
Bock the Robber is definitely heading in the right area …

The pure incompetence of Couglan as Taniste and Minsister for Enterprise for Trade and Employment is asounding. Not to mention that every time she opens that thick gob of hers she puts her foot in it.
I wouldn’t leave her in charge of a child let alone a country. It’s hard to think that she’s the face of Ireland as we try to attract foreign direct investment.
She’s too obvious of a candidate next for the high road.

Good.
Now, we have another problem. Dara Colleary might get Minister of Defense. He’s a stiff, soulless ambitious little wanker. He came from nowhere in a matter of a year. That usually means he’s being backed from on high and has walked over a load of others on the way.

HM, here’s your answer from his website biography;
For the past 8 years he worked with Chambers Ireland from 1999-2006, the largest business organisation in Ireland and he previously worked in an Irish bank.
In February 2008, Calleary was appointed chairman of Ógra Fianna Fáil by the then Taoiseach, Bertie Ahern, at the National Youth Conference in Tullamore, County Offaly. In 2007 Calleary chaired one of the first ever Ógra Fianna Fáil cumann meeting in Northern Ireland at Queen’s University Belfast.
He is a son of Seán Calleary who was a TD for Mayo East from 1973 to 1992, who served as a Minister in three government departments during that time, and the grandson of Phelim Calleary who was elected a Member of the 14th Dáil for Mayo North at the 1952 by-election and served until retiring at the 1969 general election.

I saw the Mayor of Limerick last night on RTE News. He was giving out about the fact that Limerick has lost a great public representative. The Mayor of Limerick is a Fine Gael party member.
What the fuck is that about? Mé féinism is the operative word in this shithole of a country.
One other thing captain? Did you see Question Time last night? Conservatives have Rory Stewart on board. Ambitious dude.
February 19th, 2010 @ 11:03 am
Thanks Cap’n. Yep, he’s been groomed alright. Probably in there to make sure NAMA runs smoothly and doesn’t throw up any secrets.

Isn’t Gluey a gurl ? Possibly O’Dea’s mammy or worse ?
February 19th, 2010 @ 11:54 am
Thinking of starting a facebook group called: “Pulling a Willie” being forced to resign after being caught brazenly lying.
Examples of use:
“Politician X was caught pulling a willie last week”
or
“He would have gotten away with it it it hadn’t been noticed he was pulling a willie”
February 19th, 2010 @ 11:57 am
It’s just not the same without GLUEY around to castigate us FOR OUR FAILURES!!!! :(

I walk into Eason’s in Galway yesterday and ‘twenty major’ whoever or whatever he may be, has three novels there under his, eh, name, all from a respectable publisher. This is an indication, of course, of how low Irish publishing has fallen. Use ‘c**t’ in a blog and some bright boy in a publisher’s office will reckon you’re a commercially sound investment. I don’t think one needs to comment further on Irish culture.
February 19th, 2010 @ 4:35 pm
Jaysus Fred, take your nose out of the clouds, lots of books are published under a pseudonym / nom de plume, even poetry books. ‘Irish publishing’ has fallen way, way below Mr Major, as you must know from being in Eason’s. But then you’ll be aware that publishing is a business full of cunts trying to make money. ‘Culture’ it aint, unless it’s the culture of the greasy till. One hopes that won’t upset one too much.
February 19th, 2010 @ 5:02 pm
hah, Conan.
Did the nasty people in Eason’s force you to buy the books, Fred?
February 19th, 2010 @ 5:07 pm
Yay!!! O’Dea is gone. Not sure about his support in Limerick either what with the much touted Regeneration Programme having gone down the toilet. An example of his political clout not being so clouty?
Mind you, like Beverley-Cooper-Cunt he’ll undoubtedly be back. Takes more than a silver bullet to kill off these FF fuckers.
February 19th, 2010 @ 5:11 pm
Three novels?
February 19th, 2010 @ 5:27 pm
three novilties maybe
February 19th, 2010 @ 5:30 pm
Oh, three novel ties, that explains.
February 19th, 2010 @ 5:52 pm
Well, a cynic might argue that since you spend a great deal of your blog, under a false name or otherwise, attacking the fake and the unreal, you’d be the last person to accept a major two-book deal which wants you for what they perceive as your bohemian approach; would the same people take a book from you under your own name? Perhaps they have, for all I know. But let’s look at it another way, to see how bad this sort of thing can go: The Irish Times published an entire serious of essays by various writers to celebrate the 60th birthday of the Declaration of Human Rights. It was kicked off by an essay from Heaney. It included, God help us, an essay by Ross O’Carroll-Kelly – no, not under the banner of his REAL identity, but as Ross.I protested to The Irish Times about this blatant dumbing-down to try to be ‘cool’ about Human Rights and damned myself even more definitively than I already am damned at The Paper of Record. I also wrote to Amnesty. Using a cartoon character? Jesus wept! Is this what we’ve come down to? See where I am going with this?
February 19th, 2010 @ 5:55 pm
Not a clue. You just sound like a bitter old curmudgeon.
February 19th, 2010 @ 6:18 pm
I’ll try plain English this time: why do you, who give out about all things fake in politic and elsewhere, sign a two-book contract with a publisher who clearly wants you for your alter-ego and the image that portrays?
In theory, if you were invited to a reading, you couldn’t turn up. Your reality, and your relevance, is in the image of Twenty Major, not in some real human behind that. If you were asked to pen an essay on Human Rights, would you use your real name or that of Twenty Major? Which would you conider more appropriate?
February 19th, 2010 @ 6:25 pm
Why not sign up for a two book deal? I’ve created the character, should I feel slighted somehow that they don’t want the real me? How odd.
And I were asked to pen an essay on human rights I would decline as I don’t have any interest, experience or sufficient knowledge to do so. Anyway, nobody would ask ‘Twenty Major’ to do that.
February 19th, 2010 @ 6:59 pm
“Mr O’Dea insisted he had acted in the interests of the country ”
My hero! A selfless act indeed.
http://www.irishtimes.com/newspaper/breaking/2010/0219/breaking2.html
February 19th, 2010 @ 7:11 pm
Riighttt! No interest in human rights. I seee. . .! No one would ask Twenty Major . . . Hmmmm! Must think he’s pretty safe, then. Not a boat-rocker, eh? The perfect Irish promotional foil. Mmmmm! I think I understand it all now . . . .
February 19th, 2010 @ 7:15 pm
Ah, Rights
from “The Best Of Myles”
” In the present century we have amassed a formidable list of ‘rights’ never heard of before. I think it is true to say that only an inferior person has rights. When you hear a person talking about his rights, you may be sure he is trying to gain by dint of shouting something which he lacks (or had and lost) by reason of some culpable deficiency in himself. You never hear successful men talking about their rights.”

February 19th, 2010 @ 7:18 pm
Fred reminds me of Maria.
February 19th, 2010 @ 8:16 pm
And shouldn’t Ahern (MoJ) be fired now for voting in support of a perjurer? I mean Minister for Justice?
February 19th, 2010 @ 8:40 pm
I really have no fucking clue what Fred is on about.
February 19th, 2010 @ 8:53 pm
I know a guy, well, know of a guy, I can nod hello to him, he writes under a pseudonmyn…I’m not checking the speling – fuck it. Anyhow. He writes as a woman. He’s done ok. Vincent Caprani. http://www.tribune.ie/article/2008/mar/02/male-order-romance/?q=Male%20Order%20Romance
I’m trying to remember the name of bestseller he had in the 70′s I think…I must ask him again.
Fred just had a bad day and needed to spew it out; that’s allowed. Haven’t a fucking clue what it’s about. I bet Heaney wrote about fucking potatoes, again, for amnesty.
February 20th, 2010 @ 3:37 am
It gets better and Better – Cowen is being called a liar!
FORMER MINISTER Willie O’Dea has contradicted Taoiseach Brian Cowen’s account of his resignation and backed Green Party leader John Gormley’s version of the events that led to his departure from office.

Yeh, you know what I’m talking about. It’s easy to slag-off politicians and make with the fuck-you opinions while hiding behind a fake identity.
So who I am addressing this to – the cartoon or the real person? Who holds the opinions spewed out on this site – Twenty Major or the ‘real’ person behind him?
February 20th, 2010 @ 12:39 pm
Really. I don’t have a clue. Perhaps you could be a little clearer as to exactly what it is you want.
February 20th, 2010 @ 1:17 pm
it wants attention – ignore it and it will go away……
February 20th, 2010 @ 3:47 pm
Reckon Fred is one of those media anti blog types attempting to open a “dialog” on the pointlessness of blogging as a means of disseminating news and ideas.
Or some such stuff.
February 20th, 2010 @ 4:04 pm
I think he’s asking “Is twenty schizo”?
May he’s trying to bum your prescription off you.
February 20th, 2010 @ 6:26 pm
The most beautiful sound I ever heard:
Maria, Maria, Maria, Maria . . .
All the beautiful sounds of the world in a single word . .
Maria, Maria, Maria, Maria . . .
Maria!
I’ve just met a cunt named Maria,
And suddenly that name
Will never be the same
To me.
Maria!
