There’s a great scene in The Wire when McNulty and Kima are sent to FBI Behavioral Lab to find out more about their own Baltimore Serial Killer of Homeless People. Goes something like this

FBI big-shot introduces himself as the writer of this book and that book. FBI arselicking sidekick explains to McNulty how his big-shot partner captured The Unabomber

Mcnulty – “Didn’t he go undetected for 20 years?”

FBI Dude – “Yes”

McNulty – “Didn’t you only catch him after his brother turned him in?”
