I checked the sums on this and our GDP for 2008 was €181 billion (€189 billion in 2007). Now if you multiply 181 x 2.61 you come up with a mind boggling €472 billion! That’s the amount on deposit in Irish banks that we as taxpayers guaranteed. Now where the fuck is all that money gone and how in Christ’s name can we get hold of a slice of it? That amount would fund NAMA nine times over.
