Decisions decisions

Today’s the day.

LISBON II – The Revotening.

There can be only one … answer, and we’ll keep making you vote till you get it right.

Yes to Europe, nice roads and healthy EU funding and open market and sexy French girls.

No to a treaty which is impentrable and confusing and hard to understand.

Yes to not doing what Coir, the Shinners or Ganley want.

No to doing what Cowen and his scabby bunch of cunt sticks want.

Yesers are cunts.

Noers are cunts.

Polling closes at 10pm.

I am feeling thetic, today. Apa and just plain old Pa. Have already voted on this.

Fuck it.

The new FIFA 2010 is out today. I might just buy that and stay home.

hah, i was thinking the same thing.
I don’t really know exactly what’s in the treaty and it would take effort to get my voting card from my old address.

Fuck it, i’ll play some Xbox instead and then go to the pub.

  • AM in Belgium Says:

You don’t need a voting card to vote: just some form of identification (driving licence, work ID card, etc).

    Go out and vote.

Some of us aren’t allowed to vote because we aren’t in the fucking country, so it’s the least you can do.

  • Hellbrain Says:

Just put my yes vote in the ballot box. Sinn Fein, Ganley, Higgins and Coir can fuck right off.

Someone was telling me i had to have the voting card. may as well chuck in a yes then.

  • PC Says:

Guess the yessers will be looking forward to Tony Blair as EU president :)

  • Lung the Younger Says:

This is something about hosting next year’s Eurovision in Lisbon, right?

  • Hellbrain Says:

Lung, yes. According to the Lisbon treaty, not only do we not have to enter it anymore, but those who wish to enter each year will be deported.

  • Hellbrain Says:

Oh and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II is out today. Time for me to start killing some non-Americans in the interest of democracy.

  • maggot Says:

Not voting or even worse voting no guarantees a Papal visit. Can you live with that thought ?

  • Hellbrain Says:

Voting no will make divorce illegal.

  • Thriftcriminal Says:

Can’t vote, not a citizen. Can, however, propose that someone take McVeigh-style action.

  • Sean R Says:

If you think this was tortuous as a political campaign, wait until Biffo tries to ‘re-market’ the soldiers of density for the next election! We’ll be totally confused as they try to persuade us that we wanted FF to fuck the economy and we’re happy being wage slaves/ unemployed for the next decade…it’ll become that confusing. Alternatively people may be sensible enough to consign FF to oblivion like the PDs!

Today, I’m actually voting NO. This is not because I support any of the wackjobs nor am I ‘against’ the EU per se, but I’m just angry, appalled and annoyed at being asked to vote twice on the same topic. It is just insulting to the electorate who said NO already.

I am totally pissed that the EU – which I generally support – can produce a treaty that is gobbledegook English (as happens when you plug Latvian, German, Polish, French, etc. into a universal translator machine at the same time)… if they cannot write a Treaty that is produced in simple English, then how can the EU claim the Community will run more effectively? Bad treaty.

  • peadar Says:

If you vote yes then the spotty bastards in McDonalds will be obliged to ask you if you want gherkins on your burger. VOTE YES!

  • Hellbrain Says:

Sean… we’re voting again because 40% of those who voted no last year admitted that they only voted no because they didn’t know what the treaty was about. That and the fact that many others were voting on issues that had absolutely nothing to do with the treaty whatsoever. Maybe if the Irish public wasn’t as thick-skulled as they’ve made themselves out to be and had actually bothered their holes to read up on the treaty in the first place, we wouldn’t have to vote again.

  • Fill3rup Says:

Oh and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II is out today.

No its not… tis out next month dude, wouldnt want anyone going down to the local Gamestop and being dissapointed…

  • Fill3rup Says:

oh and im throwing in a yes vote later…

  • Conan Drumm Says:

The Lisbong Treaty, it keeps bouncing back ’til we give the ‘right’ answer.

Hellbrain, I wasn’t one of the ’surveyed’ and I know plenty other rational ‘No’ voters who weren’t ’surveyed’. So they just ignored the 60% of us who sensibly voted ‘No’. It was a classic political distraction ploy – deal noisily with the silly arguments and ignore the serious ones.

Why then is it going to be carried by a significant majority this time? Are the people who ’sensibly voted no’ sensibly changing their mind?

  • Peter Slattery Says:

Hellbrain, you’re a month ahead of yourself. MWII isn’t out until 10th November.

  • Conan Drumm Says:

Peadar, voters have had the ‘fear’ put on them. Lots of talk about the dire need for economic recovery but zero debate about the ‘Excessive Deficit’ measures in the treaty.

  • Sniffle Says:

Hellbrain, what % of the people who voted yes last time , knew why they voted yes ?
    Just curious .

  • Crank Says:

    . . . FEAR . . .

    . . . That is all . . .

  • maggot Says:

Interesting view of democracy in action – one vote only allowed .

Plus side – Mary Lou in the wilderness forever

Down Side – FF government for all eternity.

Who can take the democratic process seriously in a country that keeps returning FF governments ?

  • peadar Says:

    I’m afraid of nothing.

except me girlfriend & me ma.

    and your ma

  • Fill3rup Says:

You…have..a..g-girlfriend..?? *sits down for a moment*

  • peadar Says:

So will you again someday, eventually. maybe

  • Fill3rup Says:

    already sorted Peadar thanks…

  • morgor Says:

Who can take the democratic process seriously in a country that keeps returning FF governments ?

    not me anyway.

  • Fill3rup Says:

Who can take the democratic process seriously in a country that keeps returning FF governments ?

    Robert Mugabe?

  • maggot Says:

peadar has a girlfriend ? Is that in a Renate sort of way ? I’m confused. No offence peadar, I thought you were of the other persuasion.

  • peadar Says:

    already sorted Peadar thanks…

    that was quick, congrats.

    Is she dirty?

  • maggot Says:

She would have to be peadar. Otherwise why would he bother ?

  • morgor Says:

I always assumed you were a rapist Peadar. No offense.

  • SAm Creaq Says:

I voted ‘Yes’ the last time for two reasons.
Firstly I think we have done OK out of Europe, and secondly I knew they would just run it again if it didnt pass and we’d have an extra month of complete cuntology on every media for another month. (call me Fergus Gibson)

  • Fill3rup Says:

That would be an ecumenical matter Peadar..

    Morgor:Heh..
    Maggot:heh-heh..

  • peadar Says:

I always assumed you were a rapist Peadar. No offense.

but she said if I let her live she’d be my girlfriend

  • Fill3rup Says:

but she said if I let her live she’d be my girlfriend

But you just couldn’t control yourself, could you Peadar???

Like John Dough in the movie Seven..Playing house with Gwyneth Paltrow, but it just didnt work out…

  • peadar Says:

No it’s working out just fine.
She complains a bit about being tied up but she’s getting used to it

  • morgor Says:

No it’s working out just fine.

At least someone has a happy stable relationship.

  • V Says:

Forget the shinners, pacifists, God nutjobs, stepford wives, bald nazis, uk irredentists, stalinist trade-unionists and utopian socialists. Do the right thing…and if you use it for a protest vote, you are a bigger cunt than all the rest of them put together.

  • morgor Says:

You are correct AM, you don’t need the voting card, consider yourself as having added +1 to the yes vote.

  • maggot Says:

Do married couples only get one vote ? I ask because the online IT has a (disturbing) picture of Mr and Mrs Cowen casting “their” vote.

  • maggot Says:

    Is she kin peadar ?

  • peadar Says:

I’m not sure, she sounds a bit like a nordie. Are any of your family missing?

  • Fill3rup Says:

The Nordies love a good rapin’ i hear..

    already sorted Peadar thanks…

    has she got any sisters?

  • Conan Drumm Says:

Ah V, there you are, still using the crazy bedfellows argument.

You’re quite right of course, we should accept the assurances of a government that has led us brilliantly for more than a decade. Or better still, all those disinterested captains of industry. Or the disinterested academics and lawyers.

At all costs ignore the reasonable voice that asks, “Cui bono?”

  • Fill3rup Says:

No but she’s got a little brother,(R)apey called dibs on him already..

  • V Says:

You know well enough I’m as annoyed by FF and O’Leary as much as you are with Ganley and Coir. I do accept the assurances because I see the benefits and believe that the only opportunity presented by defeat would be to the enemies of the left in Europe. I’m not ready to give up on it yet, but I can understand why some are.

  • V Says:

…and leave “Bono’ out of it, he’s been good and not said anything this whole time.

  • Conan Drumm Says:

    :)

  • Sniffle Says:

Hey V , do you find the document conflicted
( I’ve scanned it only, like Brian Cowen did ).
Seriously though, there are some sections which I thought yeah, and then others, no. But he girl at the voting booth wants one answer.

Think this is bizarre and lazy and un- democratic, that Brussels should have broken this treaty up. There is a better way.

And asking a nation who can’t agree what day it is to vote yes/no on a 300 page document….

I wouldn’t be concerned about my concerns though, the yeah yeah yeahs will will with a land-slide.

  • Liv Says:

finally, those smug bastards on the posters will stop annoying me on my ride home from work.

  • peadar Says:

Fuck up the lot of yous and vote yes!

  • Conan Drumm Says:

As regards the posters, whose bight idea was it for the FG Aldidl yellow/black posters? They use the same lay-out, colour and font as the shop pricing signage.

  • Hellbrain Says:

If there’s one Youtube video you watch today, make it this one. Nearly pissed my pants.

  • Alfie Says:

A herd of Llamas that caused havoc on the M50 yesterday have gone missing from the pound where they were being kept.
I don’t think Yes or No will make much difference to a place with so many idiots.

  • Twenty Major Says:

Someone tell which way will keep the Turks out of Europe and I’ll vote that way.

  • maggot Says:

Turks are good people Twenty. It’s the Greeks you want to watch!

  • peadar Says:

I don’t know which way that would be but if we could stop thick irish women from riding/screwing the greasy cunts it’d be a start. I fucking hate turks

  • V Says:

If you look at how many agendas it is trying to accomodate, then it’s a miracle it’s not more conflicted than it is. You hit the nail on the head though, referendums are rubbish.

Interesting to see that Eirigi the ’socialist’ republican no group, are using their variation on the old tory slogan ‘Britain’s not working’ on their posters. Lazy cunts.

  • peadar Says:

    that should have said ‘riding/marrying’

  • Fill3rup Says:

Peadar:Ah the Turk lads only go after the 40+ Irish wans…
How old is your Missus? Did something happen when you were away on holiday?

  • maggot Says:

Turkish Food and music is great – try this by Baris Manco – “Nick The Chopper”

A couple of years older than me – mid thirties.
So I’m safe for another few years then.

Most of my friends love holidaying in turkey, they say the people are so nice and friendly.
But i don’t buy it, they’re false slimy fucks who just after your money

  • maggot Says:

peadar – why would you want to keep her once she hits 40 ? Think about it man!

  • peadar Says:

But she’ll probably go to the cops if I don’t.
Jaysus maybe a turk could do me a favour. But the fucker will want a passport in return

  • morgor Says:

  • peadar Says:

before this comment there was 69

    hehehe 69 hehe

I going home to drink gallons of wine

  • maggot Says:

Fucking Hell – that Cunt Keegan won millions.

  • Damien Says:

When I think of the state of the Irish political system, I am left with the following thoughts..

FF – Tried and tested to be completely useless Cunts, but we still continue to vote them in!
FG – Are things really that bad that we need to seriously consider them as a govt party.. still Cunts though
Labour – Bunch of wackos (ref mid ’80’s Govts), though have a good leader who can be a proper Cunt
Shinners – Bunch of Cunts with an identity crisis trying to convince us to vote no, when they can’t figure out what they stand for! Mary-Lou should just disappear never to be found again. Though I still would if I got a sneaky chance, the thing about mopeds and fat chicks, great to ride but you don’t want any of your mates seeing you on one..
Socialists – Bunch of fruit loop Cunts, full of school teachers and hush puppy wearing Cunts
COIR – What can I say about these cock dodging, inter-bred Cunts that would make them seem human…

  • maggot Says:

Though I still would if I got a sneaky chance,

One of many I suspect. With young Toireasa as a back up ?

  • Damien Says:

Not Toireasa, her old man Martin is a proven proper Cunt. There’s no escaping if he catches you, it’s straight up the aisle with a shot gun behind you.

  • maggot Says:

How about Bairbre then Damien ?

  • Damien Says:

Never gave her much thought, my attentions have been drawn Mary-Lou due to the amount of tripe that she talks. Somewhere along the way whilst listening to her on the news one day, I switched to mute and somehow she seemed much more appealing. Still a Cunt though!

  • maggot Says:

Any more set-backs and she’ll be side-lined – they thought they had a winner when she jumped the FF ship – wholesome middle class girl, not a whiff of cordite and popping out babies for the Rosary Bead Republican faction.

  • Hellbrain Says:

Looks as if the Yes vote is Stirling.

  • morgor Says:

Any more set-backs and she’ll be side-lined – they thought they had a winner when she jumped the FF ship – wholesome middle class girl, not a whiff of cordite and popping out babies for the Rosary Bead Republican faction. haha, i guess we shouldn’t start a discussion again on whether she’s tasty or not. we’ve been there before. On a seperate note i just took a dump that should have been sealed in concrete and buried in China. Who ever thought that en-suite’s were a good idea?

  • maggot Says:

Heh – I just had a celebratory dump myself Morgor.

Twenty never got back to us on whether or not his normal evacuatory schedule had resumed.

  • Damien Says:

Likewise myself, I’ve given mine a nick-name, it’s Sharon or Sharen. So good girl Sharen, and thanks be to jaysus for extractor fans.
