It’s wrong and it’s sickening what politicians get away with in this Country, but I know I’ve tried to fight them several times on different issues…really made a big effort, evidence gathering, getting people on board, proving them to be wrong and corrupt and it’s gotten me precisely nowhere. If they had listened to me on one of those issues, five young lives would have been saved. So now I tend to not bother my arse. I’d imagine a lot of other people are the same.
What, realistically, should we be doing? Protests are pointless really, in terms of getting anywhere. The internet is probably the best tool available, but it’s how to use it effectively.

The problem that we have in this country is that its just too fucking small. Everyone knows everyone, and nobody will really go after anybody because of these close ties…
the problem in that country, sam crea – is that we worry more about what the neighbors think than what is best for ourselves and our own famiies. It is our children who will suffer an dpay for all this. The only realistic solution at this point is the traditional one unless things change in the Irish Psyche – raise them so they are equipped to emigrate. I am thnakful my parents did that – today I lead a life style that would be beyond comprehension, let alone possible, to those of my cohort who remained in Ireland. At best, most of that generation are now unemployed, over-mortgaged, burned out has-beens.
