Trouble is, he's given us free will. That said, none of us has any idea how much stuff he does stop (if anything). If he did decide to stop all evil in the world, he knows that (a) we'd take the credit and never give him a thought, and (b) you and I would lose our free will because he'd have to take a lot of our attitudes away.
