Well, I’m afraid we have reached the point where the noble, honest and humourous insult of “cunt” is finally being denigrated and abused by being applied to such a psychotic slimeball as this. Nuff said. Spluttering with incoherent outrage is all that’s left.
By way of lightening the tone, the description of the infamous “leather” brought back fond memories of one of the finest artisitic practitioners of the art of leathering that I have ever seen – Brother Finbarr (now joyfully deceased) of Christian Brothers, Newbridge.
This short, bald, bad-tempered, red-faced Cork psycho, was outraged one afternoon when he found a rabbit’s tail on his desk. Assuming we had placed it there in mockery of his glossy pate, he paused only long enough to turn luminescent scarlet and pull the leather from his belt.
For ten minutes there followed what I can only recall as the Great Leathering Massacre. Starting with the front row of the class of 20, he steadily mowed his way to the back, slashing and smashing faces and bodies as he went, and then returned, repeating the same walloping to backs, ears, and backs of heads with that tiny, soft, leather that Donohuhue described as “harmless” (with a lead strip insert). As Finbarr, now icy cool and blue in face, sat back at his desk, he surveyed with satisfaction the mass of weeping, bleeding, black-eyed, bloody nosed humanity writhing before him, and said – “Pay attention! Book 12, Line 1: ‘Turnus ut infractos adverso Marte Latinos defecisse videt, sua nunc promissa reposci, se signari oculis…’
I wonder why that line of Virgil is still burned in memory. (Translation, totally un-ironic, “Turnus, seeing the Latins quite broken with unsuccessful war, knew now his own promise was claimed, and he was marked by the eyes of all..”)

Bill is delighted with himself. He is his own unwitting hoax. A rabid defender of the indefensible, we get great fun out of him making a clown out of himself here in the USA . But there are a few who take solace from his words, those who need someone to string together a sentence which pretends to be a counter to an argument which is a truth too hard for them to take.

This guy obviously makes for great TV. But he should be starved of this oxygen that sustains him. This sort of bigotry should not be given airtime. But fair play to Colm for making him look like an even bigger tool than he made himself look.
This report will change for a very long time how we as Irish people are perceived around the world. How we atone, and ensure such things can never happen again is very important for us as a country. Every single case has to be followed up, every person has to be prosecuted, and these “organisations” have to be made to pay, with hopefully their Ruin as a side-effect .

THere was a thread about this cunt over on Pharyngula where one poster said that the catholic league has over 300000 members and he, the cunt in question, is paid over $350,000 by them. It was further agreed by the thread that the cunt is used as a useful mouthpiece by the american church who can rely on him on to say what they all think but who can be denied when politically expedient. Oh the fun has extended way over here to Spain where, as a result of the news from Ireland, a local Cardinal Antonio Cañizares has gone on the record as saying that legalized abortion is far worse than child sexual abuse. Now everyone has a right to their opinion on abortion but to compare apples and oranges in this way and using it to trivialize church paedophilia has to make him a prize stupid cunt on a par with Donohue.
Then just when you thought things were getting utterly ridiculous, Jaime Mayor Oreja the candidate of the European fucking Parliament for the PP (Spanish version of Fianna Fail) goes and backs the cardinal up. And this Opus cunt might actually sit in parliament in Brussels?!?

With any luck, one day Bill will be strolling down the street and the bottom half of his stomach will explode. The Phoenix magazine has a thought-provoking editorial on how our religious loony president, and her mates, are deflecting the issue of payment by the cathlic church by concentrating peoples minds on the individual abusers. i.e blaming the individual priests therby making the church less culpaple. “He is a monster”; not “the church is a monster”
