The book is out

OUT NOW!

OUT NOW!

I haven’t seen it myself but various reports have suggested it’s well and truly in the shops now. So feel free to go forth and purchase your copy.

I have to say it’s one of the top two books I’ve ever written in my life.

What’s it about? Well, after the Folkapalooza thing from the first book a gangster interrupts the required peace, quiet and rehabilitation to call his marker.

His daughter is marrying a man he doesn’t approve of so Twenty, that’d be me, Jimmy, Stinking Pete and Dirty Dave all follow him to Barcelona where he’s having his stag party. The idea is to bring back some kind of evidence that means the wedding won’t take place – if not it’s curtains for us.

And that’s as much as I’m gonna tell you. It is not, as the Sunday Times suggested, sloppy. The binding, artwork and font layout are all fantastic.

If you can’t get to a book shop due to work/living abroad/being in prison etc – you can pick it up from Amazon right here.

Enjoy.

Told you that night course in The Derrick Zoolander school for kids who can’t read good and want to learn to do other stuff good too, would yield results…

  3. Augusto says:

Damn, a friend of mine is flying from Manchester, UK to Brazil this weekend and I suppose Amazon wouldn’t process an order and deliver it today, would it? Does anybody know if the book is already on sale in some bookstore in Manchester?

  4. Fill3rup says:

When he gets to Brazil he could just go to the Amazon…

  5. divneymathers says:

    Heh, very good fill.
Hoping mine will be delivered today from Amazon.

  6. Augusto says:

The book ships in 6 to 10 days and the cheapest delivery option takes 8 to 12 business days. I can wait, of course, but it’d be nice to have the book on Monday.

  7. Fill3rup says:

divney:I am shocked that no-one (yes, you Monkey Balls) got there first to be honest…

  8. divneymathers says:

Shit, just looked at the order confirmation.
Won’t be delivered until the 24/25th Feb.

  9. alfie says:

Why would it be on sale in Manchester? none of them Manchester Irish knacker diddycoys can read.

  10. Why would I buy it?

I take anything Colin says as gospel.

    He’s my hero.

If you’re reading this : I love you Colin and i want to have your babies.

  11. Fill3rup says:

    Ouch…
I prefer the old “walk into the Bookshop/record shop/sex shop” method myself..
Online is grand for rare records or Xbox games from Play but I dont like ordering anything online if I can help it..

  12. Glad I dropped in. Checking in Amazon…

Delivery estimate: 24 Feb 2009 – 2 Mar 2009 I bet it will only be three beer tokens then…

Where is this sex shop then Fill? Will it be on the top shelf?

  13. Fill3rup says:

Where do you think i work?

Its in the back wrapped in Black PVC,just by the Battery powered Minges…

Twenty:Is it a copyright Issue the reason the Book is called The Barcelona Stag Affair on Play.com?

    http://tinyurl.com/ckgxza

  14. Jo says:

I don’t know, Twenty. In fairness, you did blog about writing it hastily.

Still, I’ll risk it, despite Colin’s measured wisdom.

  15. Its in the back wrapped in Black PVC,just by the Battery powered Minges…

Makes sense, good classification and all that.

  16. maggot says:

Twenty – be honest with me – If I walk around with a copy will women throw themselves at me demanding sex ?

  17. Simon says:

    Sloppy seconds?

  18. Fill3rup says:

Maggot – If you get it in my shop,i can arrange that!

  19. Twenty Major says:

Twenty:Is it a copyright Issue the reason the Book is called The Barcelona Stag Affair on Play.com?

That was the working title, no idea why it hasn’t changed.

    Maggot – of course.

Jo – people shouldn’t believe everything they read on blogs!

  20. Twenty Major says:

Delivery estimate: 24 Feb 2009 – 2 Mar 2009 I bet it will only be three beer tokens then…

I know a man who got his this morning and he’s in London. Maybe he ordered in a nicer tone.

  21. STIPES says:

monkey balls has it. I’m not sure if he’s happy though, I’m waiting for his HONEST opinion

  22. maggot says:

I need female feedback – I nearly said input – Jo, what do you think ? Will women be drawn to me as I stroll around reading Absinthe?

p.s. don’t worry, I won’t be heading down to Dublin.

  23. If they had ordered ten books instead of five, I would have mine now :-)

  24. Jo says:

Perhaps if Twenty walked around carrying it for you, Maggot…

  25. Conan Drumm says:

The book’s come out? It never crossed my mind it was gay. Did Colin completely miss the homoerotic subtext?

  26. Twenty Major says:

I feel he simply chose to ignore it.

  27. maggot says:

Sigh – I know I cannot compete with Twenty as a babe magnet Jo but you didn’t have to be so blunt.

  28. maggot says:

Gay ? Has the church condemned it ? 50 years too late Twenty – think of the prestige you would have had joining authors like John Steinbeck on the banned list.

  29. Twenty Major says:

I know. I’m so behind the times, maggot.

  30. maggot says:

Couple of promotional ideas – offer the Cardinal a 5% cut if he will condemn the book from the Pulpit ? Or send a complimentary copy to Madonna and Jesus ?

  31. Conan Drumm says:

The Censorship of Publications Board still exists (13 Hatch Street, Dublin 2. Contact: Peggy Garvey). You could apply to join the list of the great and ther good and the misunderstood. http://www.justice.ie/en/JELR/Register%20of%20Prohibited%20Publications.doc/Files/Register%20of%20Prohibited%20Publications.doc

  32. Conan Drumm says:

Btw, kiss the afternoon goodbye if you open that link, it’s just too hilarious.

  33. hehe, I’d buy a book called “moist urges”.

I wonder what the cover looks like…

  34. Twenty Major says:

haha, first one on the list is a book called ‘Anus’

  35. Twenty Major says:

Poor old Victor Bruno never made his fortune in Ireland…

  36. SAm Crea says:

It seems to be just a list of porn novels Conan,
but I am intrigued to get my hands on a copy of
    “Chained chicken”

  37. divneymathers says:

Where did the fella in London get his copy Twenty?

  38. maggot says:

That is an excellent reading list – and a bit counter productive

  39. itchybollix says:

    http://www.powells.com/biblio/61-9780810946279-0

I’ll try Easons in Swords on the way home for yours twenty – if it is there I’ll pretend I’m you doing a book signing – hoodie up, shades on, smoking major

  40. Monkey Balls says:

I’m reading the book right now, and by the time I got to chapter 6 I understood fully WHY Colin Coyle chose to give it a bad review.
I’d suggest that anyone who intends to read the book reads the review first. It makes it even funnier.
    http://i42.tinypic.com/2ykfko1.jpg
So far, the book is everything I had hoped it would be, and I have no hesitation in recommending that you all rush out and buy your two copies now.
€8.99 each in Eason’s, or two for €17.98.

  41. Fill3rup says:

I cant wait to get home and belt into it..i’ll probably read it then…

  42. itchybollix says:

ok – easons swords. and the very cool girl who directed me to de buk knew of the blog too.

Is it dedicated to Cat Stevens dog? I can’t even figure out the dedication…

    good luck with it twenty.

  43. Monkey Balls says:

Hold it up to the mirror itchy!

  44. itchybollix says:

monkeyball – why the fuck would I know that I have to “hold it up to the mirror”.

It’s a book; not debbie mafuckinggee

    rude cunt.

  45. Congrats, Twenty! I’ll be ordering my copy post haste by hasty post.

  46. Monkey Balls says:
