The book is out
Posted on | February 13, 2009 | 60 Comments

OUT NOW!
I haven’t seen it myself but various reports have suggested it’s well and truly in the shops now. So feel free to go forth and purchase your copy.
I have to say it’s one of the top two books I’ve ever written in my life.
What’s it about? Well, after the Folkapalooza thing from the first book a gangster interrupts the required peace, quiet and rehabilitation to call his marker.
His daughter is marrying a man he doesn’t approve of so Twenty, that’d be me, Jimmy, Stinking Pete and Dirty Dave all follow him to Barcelona where he’s having his stag party. The idea is to bring back some kind of evidence that means the wedding won’t take place – if not it’s curtains for us.
And that’s as much as I’m gonna tell you. It is not, as the Sunday Times suggested, sloppy. The binding, artwork and font layout are all fantastic.
If you can’t get to a book shop due to work/living abroad/being in prison etc – you can pick it up from Amazon right here.
Enjoy.

Damn, a friend of mine is flying from Manchester, UK to Brazil this weekend and I suppose Amazon wouldn’t process an order and deliver it today, would it? Does anybody know if the book is already on sale in some bookstore in Manchester?
February 13th, 2009 @ 9:58 am
When he gets to Brazil he could just go to the Amazon…
February 13th, 2009 @ 10:14 am
Heh, very good fill.
Hoping mine will be delivered today from Amazon.
February 13th, 2009 @ 10:14 am
The book ships in 6 to 10 days and the cheapest delivery option takes 8 to 12 business days. I can wait, of course, but it’d be nice to have the book on Monday.

divney:I am shocked that no-one (yes, you Monkey Balls) got there first to be honest…
February 13th, 2009 @ 10:29 am
Shit, just looked at the order confirmation.
Won’t be delivered until the 24/25th Feb.
February 13th, 2009 @ 10:33 am
Why would it be on sale in Manchester? none of them Manchester Irish knacker diddycoys can read.
February 13th, 2009 @ 10:34 am
Why would I buy it?
I take anything Colin says as gospel.
He’s my hero.
If you’re reading this : I love you Colin and i want to have your babies.
February 13th, 2009 @ 10:35 am
Ouch…
I prefer the old “walk into the Bookshop/record shop/sex shop” method myself..
Online is grand for rare records or Xbox games from Play but I dont like ordering anything online if I can help it..
February 13th, 2009 @ 10:51 am
Glad I dropped in. Checking in Amazon…
Delivery estimate: 24 Feb 2009 – 2 Mar 2009 I bet it will only be three beer tokens then…
Where is this sex shop then Fill? Will it be on the top shelf?
February 13th, 2009 @ 10:58 am
Where do you think i work?
Its in the back wrapped in Black PVC,just by the Battery powered Minges…
Twenty:Is it a copyright Issue the reason the Book is called The Barcelona Stag Affair on Play.com?

I don’t know, Twenty. In fairness, you did blog about writing it hastily.
Still, I’ll risk it, despite Colin’s measured wisdom.
February 13th, 2009 @ 11:10 am
Its in the back wrapped in Black PVC,just by the Battery powered Minges…
Makes sense, good classification and all that.
February 13th, 2009 @ 11:15 am
Twenty – be honest with me – If I walk around with a copy will women throw themselves at me demanding sex ?
February 13th, 2009 @ 11:21 am
Sloppy seconds?
February 13th, 2009 @ 11:28 am
Maggot – If you get it in my shop,i can arrange that!
February 13th, 2009 @ 11:37 am
Twenty:Is it a copyright Issue the reason the Book is called The Barcelona Stag Affair on Play.com?
That was the working title, no idea why it hasn’t changed.
Maggot – of course.
Jo – people shouldn’t believe everything they read on blogs!

February 13th, 2009 @ 11:45 am
I need female feedback – I nearly said input – Jo, what do you think ? Will women be drawn to me as I stroll around reading Absinthe?
p.s. don’t worry, I won’t be heading down to Dublin.
February 13th, 2009 @ 11:51 am
If they had ordered ten books instead of five, I would have mine now :-)
February 13th, 2009 @ 12:02 pm
Perhaps if Twenty walked around carrying it for you, Maggot…
February 13th, 2009 @ 12:07 pm
The book’s come out? It never crossed my mind it was gay. Did Colin completely miss the homoerotic subtext?
February 13th, 2009 @ 12:08 pm
I feel he simply chose to ignore it.
February 13th, 2009 @ 12:13 pm
Sigh – I know I cannot compete with Twenty as a babe magnet Jo but you didn’t have to be so blunt.
February 13th, 2009 @ 12:15 pm
Gay ? Has the church condemned it ? 50 years too late Twenty – think of the prestige you would have had joining authors like John Steinbeck on the banned list.
February 13th, 2009 @ 12:16 pm
I know. I’m so behind the times, maggot.
February 13th, 2009 @ 12:19 pm
Couple of promotional ideas – offer the Cardinal a 5% cut if he will condemn the book from the Pulpit ? Or send a complimentary copy to Madonna and Jesus ?

I’m reading the book right now, and by the time I got to chapter 6 I understood fully WHY Colin Coyle chose to give it a bad review.
I’d suggest that anyone who intends to read the book reads the review first. It makes it even funnier.

So far, the book is everything I had hoped it would be, and I have no hesitation in recommending that you all rush out and buy your two copies now.
€8.99 each in Eason’s, or two for €17.98.
February 13th, 2009 @ 3:26 pm
