That Roscommon cunt

I’m sure you’ve all read/heard the story about the wretched harpie from Roscommon who abused her children. Yes, she is a proper, unequivocal cunt but let’s find out who this ‘Catholic right-wing organisation’ was who supported her as she fought a high-court injunction to take those children into care.

The Independent names ‘Mina Bean Ui Chroibin’ – my Irish being completely shit, I’m assuming that’s a person and not an organisation which means ‘Money to rape your own children in the name of God’.

Google doesn’t help find out any more as the only link I can find is to the Independent article.

Anyway, this cunt, the mother, received financial support – enough to fight a high court action in 2000. The children were not taken into care until 2004. So that ‘Catholic right-wing organisation’ foisted four more years of abuse on those kids.

Can they be prosecuted? They should be. They should be named, shamed and have their pictures slapped across all the newspapers in the land because as evil as that woman is, these people were her accomplices. They were her getaway drivers. They may not have held up the bank but they played a big part in the crime.

Too often we’ve heard of the failings of social workers and health services to pay proper attention to cases of abuse. And rightly enough they’re criticised for it, but when they’ve been prevented from doing their job by a shady, fundamentalist organisation then we have a right to know who these people are.

Who is Mina Bean Ui Chroibin? Why did she write to HSE West childcare manager Paddy Gannon saying the family needed ‘support’ and not ‘instrusive action’?

This ‘Catholic right-wing organisation’ is complicit in the continued abuse of those children and while the judge will pass sentence on the mother today, there are others involved who have, so far, escaped justice.

You can be sure this woman is the same sort who bangs the drums of Youth Defence and all the other assored ‘support of women’ groups this country is infected with.

  2. Green Ink says:

A Catholic organisation protecting child rapists? Nothing new there.

The way the Catholic religion and Catholic organizations treat children and childrens welfare makes me wonder if wasn’t Herod that started this shambles and not Jesus.

  4. Daniel says:

Ah the ‘bould Mina. I remember her well. She appeared a number of times on the Late Late Show in the 1980s as a very vocal representative of the anti-divorce, anti-abortion,anti-everything lobby. Constant letter writer to the Irish Times with views that would made Hitler blush. Tridentine Catholic into the bargain and rather unkempt – always looked like she needed a good wash. She got her come uppance for her holier than thou-ness when her son was up on charges of illegal gun ownership (the family were rabid Republicans into the bargain – pro-life unless you were a British soldier or RUC officer) and one of her daughters got pregnant of wedlock (at least she didn’t use unholy protection!). Much mirth all round at Mina’s fall from grace at the time. She obviously learned to keep off the airwaves and out of the papers, but she has been shockingly up to mischief still it seems. How sad.

  5. Fill3rup says:

When i read it this morning the first thing i noticed (apart from the obvious) was the fact that they wouldnt name this organistaion,Why? Are the Indo afraid to for fear of legal action(that would probably be financed behind the scenes by The Catholic Child Rapists Association)?
I was going to say Youth Defence.. But im sure they will have something to do with that shower of Life hating cunts in the end.
Bock will be on this like a fucking Bulldog i’ll bet.
A militant wing of Cura maybe.

Cura cares…you get raped often by your Ma..

Keeping families together no matter the consequences to the kids.A real sign of an endangered species that couldnt evolve, clinging on in any way they can..
A bullet for every one of them..

  6. Darragh says:

There’s a lot of guilty parties, that’s for sure. Police, childcare workers, teachers – anyone who let these kids go unnoticed. People are very, very sick. It needs to be dealt with a lot better than is being done.

  7. Twenty Major says:

There’s a lot of guilty parties, that’s for sure. Police, childcare workers, teachers – anyone who let these kids go unnoticed.

Well they didn’t go unnoticed – my point is that it was due to the support of this Catholic right-wing organisation she was able to prevent proper care being given to these kids.

    And cheers, Daniel.

  8. fatmammycat says:

What I don’t understand is why the HSE backed down when this woman-financially aided- went to the highcourt, either they had evidence or they didn’t that the children were being abused. Poor little things, heart breaking to think they were so close to being rescued. I hope Mina whoever she is is proud of herself today. Thanks for the info Daniel.

‘Mina Bean Ui Chroibin’ is the bastard daughter of that little old lady who trundled up and down Grafton St with the placard covered in pictures of dead foetus. Her ma dumped her on the steps of a Magdelene Laundry and she fully believes that “what doesn’t kill you, ahh, just shut up and take it…”

  10. James says:

I don’t know why I am stunned by this story. I thought my days of being stunned by the catholic church were over, but no. Once again, I am lost for words.

  11. Fill3rup says:

    Well James.
THe same thing is going on up and down the country right now..
The HSE are dealing with cases in the exact same way they dealt with this one and that Fucking Loony Mina Bean Ui Chroibin’ is sitting on her High-horse with her express ticket to heaven..

I would love to bump her up to the top of the queue…

  12. Conan Drumm says:

Twenty, I commented over at FMC’s gaff… Mina Bean Ui Chroibin [Mrs Mina Cribben] would be well-known for her fervour, long predating SPUC, I think. She must be a ‘good age’ now.

She’d put the Ní Mhathúnas, O’Hanlons, Bennises, Binchys, Phillipses etc in the Ha’penny Place.

The ‘interference’ in the family angle is the classic fanatical recourse to the provision in the Constitution.

The HSE might have had to go to the Supreme Court to get the injunction overturned and success would not be guaranteed.

    “Article 41

    1. 1° The State recognises the Family as the natural primary and fundamental unit group of Society, and as a moral institution possessing inalienable and imprescriptible rights, antecedent and superior to all positive law.

2° The State, therefore, guarantees to protect the Family in its constitution and authority, as the necessary basis of social order and as indispensable to the welfare of the Nation and the State.”

  13. Twenty Major says:

It’s scary how easily that can be exploited.

  14. Jo says:

I watched the news last night but it didn’t occur to me that the story could be any worse than it appeared. Horrific.

  15. Conan Drumm says:

We shouldn’t be surprised, it had prior approval from John Charles McQuaid and was in line with Fascist thinking in Italy and Spain.

  16. Daniel says:

If I can make a slightly controversial comment, I know the concept is one not close to her own heart, but perhaps a little Christian charity needs to be shown toward old Mina. It may well be the case that she was hoodwinked by a very good liar and her religious fervour got in the way of checking out the … er… Roscomman cunt’s side of things. Much as I cannot stand the woman, even I doubt that she would have knowingly aided and abetted someone who shags their own kids and leaves them cold, dirty and hungry. That said, I agree with you that we should know what this “Catholic organisation” knew – or more importantly – did not know. If they deliberately turned a blind eye or did not check the situation out and just offered financial and other support regardless then that needs to be exposed. But who’s gonna do it?

  17. Fill3rup says:

Conan: Would she be described legally as an organisation though?
THere is something else at work behind the scenes here,it should be investigated..
I would not say Mina would have the financial clout on her own to start getting involved in legal process.. or am i wrong?

  18. Ciaran says:

Jesus Twenty, you’re forever banging the child-abuse drum.
I’d put my mortgage on you doing so to cover up your own paedophilic tendencies, for what it’s worth.

  19. Conan Drumm says:

The “organisation” claim was offered as conjecture, I think, by a HSE official. If there was an organisation behind the High Court application then they need to be exposed. It is generally the view of that type of organisation that “hard cases make bad law” and they would like us to stick to moral certainties. So the HSE interfering in a family is effectively wrong, to their minds, whatever the circumstances.

The guilty woman has been given seven years (1908 legislation), the judge has said she would have given a man life, under more recent legislation.

  20. Twenty Major says:

It’s a shame you’re so old Ciaran or I’d rape the hole off you for comments like that.

  21. Marty Molloy says:

I’m surprised Mena Bean Ui Chruibin is still alive. As mentioned previously, her name is familiar to anyone over the age of 40 who remembers when the loonier elements of the populace used to have greater and more frequent access to the nation’s media.

I think she might have been the lady who screamed “Away ye wife-swapping sodomites” to an assorted bunch of political hacks at an election count. It might have been a referendum count. If it wasn’t her, it was definitely somebody of her ilk.
She was implacably opposed to divorce too. But I don’t think it’s fair to lump “the Catholic Church” as a whole in with this loony. She is so far off the scale that even the devil would think twice before letting her into Hell.

  22. Fill3rup says:

She is so far off the scale that even the devil would think twice before letting her into Hell.

    Like The Israeli Prime Minister?

  23. hooronahonda says:

‘The guilty woman has been given seven years (1908 legislation)’

Phew! at least she gets out before all her kids reach adulthood. No, hang on…

  24. Conan Drumm says:

“her name is familiar to anyone over the age of 40 who remembers when the loonier elements of the populace used to have greater and more frequent access to the nation’s media”

Agreed, but don’t forget Opus, whose unidentified members frequently have access to the media. Or characters like Senator Ronan Mullen, who is very ‘for’ the family and is a board member of CEIST, set up by nuns to maintain Catholic ethos and control in schools.

  25. Terry says:

Remember the documentary about the divorce referendum in 1997? Remember when it became clear in the RDS that it was going to be passed? That was Mina screaming at the pro-divorce campaigners that they were a shower of “Wife-swapping sodomites”. Obviously much worse than being a chils-abusing lunatic.

The family used to own the post office in Ballymun if I remember correctly – Mina was to the fore of every anti-Brit, pro-Catholic campaign going. (I think one of the Ni Mhathuna’s is related to her – daughter perhaps?). She must be a good age at this stage – think a female version of Justin Barrett with 30 years and more facial hair and you’ll get the general picture.

  26. Matt says:

the other point here is why the high court gave the injunction. They must bear some of the responsibility.

  27. Twenty Major says:

If, as Conan pointed out, they’re bound by the constitution then there’s not much they can do.

  28. size ten says:

Mina would stick out in hell like a cat at a greyhound race, in among all them Popes, Bishops, Priests.

  29. Mína Bean Uí Chroibín (Mina Cribben) is a fucking maniac who has been trying as long as I can remember to impose the will of the Catholic lunatic fringe on our society. Quite often with some success.

  36. Damo says:

I wonder if the HSE’s talk of an Evil Right Wing Catholic Organisation (ERWCO) frustrating their efforts is a red herring to prevent their incompetence being the focus of this story? Even if this ERWCO was involved why didn’t the HSE fight the injunction harder if they were aware that the children were living in such squalor (never mind the sexual abuse which they probably (hopefully for their sake) did not know about). How could 4 years pass between the injunction in 2000 and the children being taken away from the mother in 2004 even if an ERWCO was involved? Plenty of blame to be apportioned in this case and the HSE shouldn’t be let off the hook just because of the involvement of an ERWCO.

  37. Dr Orgasm says:

The fact remains that if she was aware of the plight of the children she was complicit and if she was not aware then she was obstructing the social services in the protection of at risk children without first verifying that the accusations were in any way founded.

Either way she’s still a Cunt. I feel lucky to live in a society where we can call people like this out for what they really are. Insular, ignorant, self loathing hypocrites who given half the chance would make themselves the masters of us all.

    Again.

  38. Fill3rup says:

There hasnt been alot of details published as the case was ongoing, but i believe the injunction by its nature prevented any interference on the HSE’s behalf.THey would have been breaking the law.
What annoys me is the fact that not one person in the community ,not a teacher in the school or a neighbour reported the family to the HSE or the police..

Roscommon:A lovely place to raise your kids

  39. Terry says:

Anyone see this letter in today’s Examiner – they haven’t gone away you know!

What’s particularly mental is the bizarre logic linking the right of mothers to stay at home with their children instead of going out to work (although the bit about MRI scanning proving the benefits of this is a bit bonkers) with the right of bishops to cover up the crimes of their kiddy-fiddling underlings. And then it goes on to say that “Mother’s at home is a childrens rights organisation”? As in Belsen was a Jewish holiday camp maybe.
    —-

Tunnel-vision approach of child rights groups

WE in Mothers At Home agree fully with the sentiments expressed by Maireád Scannell (Letters, January 16) concerning the tunnel-visioned approach to child abuse by children’s rights organisations like One in Four and Barnardos.

These groups proclaim themselves as protagonists for children’s rights, yet they appear, as Ms Scannell rightly said, “deaf, dumb and blind” to the State’s persistent denial of most of the fundamental rights of every child.

Ms Scannell listed some of those fundamental rights. Mothers at Home would like to highlight another one — on which One in Four and Barnardos have also been strangely silent, ie, the right of children under the age of three to be cared for in their own home by their own parents.

Surely, Barnardos and One in Four are aware of what highly respected children’s rights advocates have been saying for decades and which is now scientifically proven, thanks to the advent of MRI scanning: children under three should be at home with mum to prevent irreparable damage being done to their health and wellbeing. Irreparable damage — is this not child abuse?

UNICEF has at last seen the light in this regard. A recent report from that organisation states that “governments are taking a high-stakes gamble with the long-term wellbeing of children by subjecting them to long hours of formal childcare from a very young age”.

The report recommends that all children should be cared for by parents at home, at least during the first 12 months of life.

So the health and welfare of our children has for years been put at risk by government policies that force two parents to seek paid employment outside the home. Yet Barnardos and One-in-Four have never called for heads to roll on this account.

Mothers at Home is a children’s rights organisation and we agree with Cardinal Seán Brady: Bishop McGee is correct in his decision not to resign.

no. Mina Cribben needs to be referred to in the anglicised version of her name, which is presumably how her neighbours know her. She should not be served in shops. She should be treated as a pariah and nothing less. Not quite, hooronahonda, the victims of the Spanish Inquisition were innocent of anything that you or I would be likely to regard as wrongdoing and therefore didn’t deserve to be tortured and/or killed, but that cunt Cribben and all of her kind are evil bastards that have done and continue to do real harm and deserve a lot of suffering.

As for the Catholic Church, let’s see if the bishops instruct the priests to devote next Sunday’s sermon to the evils of the fundamentalist creeps in organisations like Youth Defence, Cura and all of the others.

P.S. Despite the “Bean” (Mrs.) title she gives herself, I bet Mina Cribben never got a good fuck in her life.

Don’t you think its strange that the catholic Bishops have called a crisis meeting, under the guidance of Archbishop Brady (its only a title, he and Martin say, they’ve no authority? But what about moral authority lads?) and its been instigated under the orders of the Vatican.

What crisis? Not the fact that a Bishop flouted the law and the Gardaí still haven’t called so he can ‘help’ them with their enquiries. No, I’d say the crisis is that the HSE’s John Gannon highlighted the covert actions of Childfeelers United, and they will be on the offensive after this weekend, as the outrage of this Roscommon case grows.

The enemy within. They were enemies of basic rights that were championed via Daniel O’Connell, Charles Parnell and James Connolly. Forget anti-Republican retorts, the Church leadership actively militated against the poor of this country. Still do. Kids are fodder to their political cannons.

Question: – Why was a Cardinal called in to answer non-relevant accusations in front of a Dáil Committee re Lisbon and yet a Bishop who aided and abetted childfeelers is not called anywhere?

There are mystery phonecalls made and pressures applied everyday in this banana Republic.

Yes, the HSE should have pressed ahead and fought this case in 2000. But this shadowy group needs to make the headlines now. We’re going into a recession; darker times etc. watch out for fundaMENTALISTS among us.

I believe in spirituality and prayer. But I abhor the catholic fuckin church and all they have done across the world. Bad bastards at the top, like most organisations. Hopefully, even those of who wouldn’t normally pray, will send your best intentions to those poor kids. Where are the Irish warriors? Where is the outrage among our politicians on our behalf? Where is the emergency legislation???? Anglo’s was done in a few days. Our ‘leaders’ wait for a crisis. Just like the Bishops.

The investigator turned Paddy’s anxiety to protect the kids into a fault, giving the lawyers an opportunity to cast doubt on the victims’ evidence and achive an acquittal for a ‘Christian’ ‘brother’: http://www.galwayindependent.com/local-news/local-news/former-christian-brother-acquitted/

Just as everyone now knows that the execrable Mena Cribben is the sub-postmistress in Santry.

An even better idea than twinning the place with Amstetten (and a good idea for intra-EU cooperation) would be to lock the mother up along with Josef Fritzl. What beats me is that no one brought this matter to the authorities’ notice. When I was a kid in a part of Ireland as rural as Roscommon, you couldn’t fart without some group like the Legion of Mary knowing about it and getting on your case.

On the positive side, the St. Vincent de Paul Society had an uncanny ability to identify need, even when family pride tried to conceal it, and would step in, very discreetly, with real help. 80. one man and his dog says:

I know the name of the town, they don’t want the press down there prin ting lies about about the good and upright Catholic people.
I also know that Gipsies Tramps and Thieves by Cher, should be their signature tune.

  81. Does anyone believe that the hierarchy of the Catholic Church have any genuine empathy to the people they lead?

See this for how the current Pope views Holocaust deniers (a crime in the USA) and you can see that McGee’s denials (he spent time osying up in Rome; being ‘groomed’) are in the ha’penny place. And that Roscommon craic? Sure that’s only one family?! They can PR that one away no bother…….

  82. Radge says:

I can’t get past the thoughts of those children, and the horrors they’ll face as they get older.

As for the ‘cunt’ argument, I think people are just trying to be incendiary for the sake of it.

It is a commonly used, and very strong, term of abuse. Any link between its use here on Twenty’s blog and its vaginal connotations is hair-splitting of the worst kind. The woman is a cunt, and if there was a stronger expletive I’d use it.

  84. Conan Drumm says:

“So anyone going to name the town?”

That would be tantamount to naming the children, and wouldn’t help them at all

  85. Chell says:

Bean Ui Chribbin used to offer Irish grinds to students in the area, but when they went she’d spend an hour lecturing them about the evils of abortion and deodorant. She looks like worzel gummage.

  86. tommy says:

wow look at all you brave people criticise Míne a woman who many of yo have never met all you know of her is what the prees have said about her maybe you should all get a life instead of coming on this yoke and criticising an 81 year old woman from behind a compuetr screen

  87. Those damned prees. You couldn’t be up to them.

  88. Portia Barrett. says:

From experience, I know that many in HSE, Opus Dei, and the Dept of Justice are all in bed together.

I got a right lecture from all of them a few years ago re leaving a violent husband.

I was shocked at first, because they were all siding with the abuser and causing the children serious trauma, which was done throught the use of various forms of mental torture used in military camps.

The thinking was, it did not matter what the children suffered as long as we played Happy Families for public show.

I have researched plenty since, and know of children placed inside paedo rings with those high up in society having free access to these same children.

The judge rubberstamped the order too, knowing full well what the truth was.

The judge also ordered the police to keep the file for her eyes only, thus not allowing the police to do their job.

And because these family courts are held in secret, the public know little or nothing of the truth.

Family courts are kangaroo courts pretending to be protecting children, but in fact a re covering up corruptio, collusion, real abuse, etc.

I made it my business to get in there and learn the truth, after learning that all I was taught in Maynooth was not true in the real world.

  89. Portia Barrett. says:

    Helen.

I understand what you are saying.

If you look a bit further up the pyramid, you will see that this mother has been deliberately selected for media hype for a reason.

The powers that be have destroyed the image of the men by labelling them all abusers, and now it is the turn of the mother.

    WHY?

Because the plan is for the state to totally OWN all children from birth, so by citing all parents are abusers, and the media dance to the tune, and the sheep believe the media- job done.

Hitler’s plan and of course- Best interest of the Child was coined by Hitler first, and all the world uses it today.??

People are being led like lambs to the slaughter.

I have worked on a case for years, where incest was implied and a findings of fact placed on the father- DESPITE THE MEDICAL SHOWING THE GIRL WAS INTACT.

Now years down the line that girl is an adult and came back from care begging all to forgive her, stating she was pushed by social workers to say her father raped her, and they would not stop till she said what they wanted.

It was the same in Cleveland, and other places.

But the truth always finds a way.

The girl above spent her 10 yrs in care and is now a prostitute, doing 5 men a day.

She learned all about the business in the care of the corporate parent.

It is all about the £££££

So, it is difficult to know the whole truth at the moment, but time will tell.

Again, the Church of Hypocrisy strikes! It’s a better name than the Catholic Church anyway. I suppose she’d be the sort of retard who thinks that the Sun orbits the Earth and that God created the world 6,000 years ago. What a fucking cunt.

  92. Jeremy Murphy says:

Horrified as above. But do I get this clear, this Neanderthal is still post mistress in Santry?? Mina Bean Ui Chroibin is by her own words & deeds wildly unfit for this post.. It alienates service users, you cannot hand out single parents allowance one minute and abuse the same single parents as state supported whores the next.It brings the entire Postal service into disrepute, people like her depend upon the cowed silence of colleagues and superiors to assumed, phony support.
At least the Mother involved found at the eleventh hour, a thin shred of decency to admit wrong doing, but this monster has no such conscience merely a fascist’s moral certainty. Minister Ryan-sack her NOW

    Hi,

I went to school, Colaiste Mhuire in Parnell Sq. with both her sons including the gun runner. Her husband’s name was Gus who use to appear at the opposite side of the studio when they made appearances on the late late show so he could agree with her rantings.

The kids were filthy and unkempt and disruptive and were expelled or suspended on many occasions only for wonder mother to picket the school to get them back in. The teachers were scared of her.

She ran a post office in Santry and had anti abortion posters posted on the wall’s

God on her side! may she rot in hell for supporting such horrors.
