Unless I’m missing something in the report you have linked here, yes that is real…

I just got out of bed(here in Ga)with a hangover.Checked my daily messages and blogs. I am now listening for the sound of Russian tanks and shitting myself. Thanks Twenty.

Ok, I didn’t notice either. I’d never make a journalist.
Or, maybe I would…

Careful now, George W has invaded countries for less. RTE could easily be responsible for starting World War III if he stumbles across this story and makes it to the big red button before the secret service agents rugby tackle him.
August 10th, 2008 at 3:30 pm
100% real. rte.ie made a big-time SNAFU.
August 10th, 2008 at 4:00 pm
This took second place on the News on RTE last night. -Don’t think the work-experience lad had found the map by this stage, because I don’t remember seeing one.
In case anyone hadn’t noticed,we had a bit of rain yesterday, and RTE in their wisdom chose this as their lead story. First time they got the weather right in ages too.
August 10th, 2008 at 4:43 pm
Oh for God’s sake.
Didn’t even spot that. Feckin RTE.
August 10th, 2008 at 5:35 pm
OMG. That’s bad. Though it took me a while to work it out too…
August 10th, 2008 at 5:55 pm
What a shower of idiots.
August 10th, 2008 at 7:29 pm
Ha. Thats relying on search engines too much for ye.
August 10th, 2008 at 7:49 pm
Ha. Google Images. Georgia. Grand, that’ll do.
August 10th, 2008 at 7:57 pm
Man United are playing Newcastle next week, so expect George Hamilton out near Clondalkin looking for the game to commentate on.
August 10th, 2008 at 8:09 pm
Very real.
Useless bastards.

For some reason it amuses me that my typo brought me here: http://www.wordpess.com
August 10th, 2008 at 11:23 pm
WTF were you searching to land there!?!?
August 10th, 2008 at 11:41 pm
Yep. As far as I know it’s a software package that has a skin on it with the rte graphics and colours. You just type in the name of the country or city and it pops up highlighted. Of course the editor is supposed to check it’s the right bloody place.
It’s kind of you’d expect from Sly Views not RTE.

“THE STATE’S first school of magic is to open in Limerick this weekend, spearheaded by a Moyross magician who is hoping to turn children away from crime towards the art of magic.”
Well, that’s Limerick sorted. Problem over.
What’s next? Crochet in Ballymena?

Maybe RTE has it right and everyone else has it wrong.
Maybe Russia did invade the US?
August 11th, 2008 at 8:38 am
Pazzam! You’re stabbed in the ass!
August 11th, 2008 at 8:39 am
Eh, Mach, I thought I’d typed in Wordpress. Just one letter different. I’m just amused there’s also a Wordpess.
August 11th, 2008 at 9:06 am
Shocking stuff…..Anyone see the Sunday Times report on it….There’s a little box with the two presidents (Russia and Georgia)…..Problem is, the picture with caption Medvedev is not him at all…..It’s just a picture of some old geezer…..
August 11th, 2008 at 11:13 am
Oh God – that’s brutal!
August 11th, 2008 at 12:50 pm

Brutal or just making a salient political statement…. ;-)

Are people living in Georgian Dublin at risk?
I understand from news reports that Gorey (liked in title) has already been bombed, causing two million Euro worth of improvements.

Hi Twenty, yep…that’s typical RTE, our very own amateur TV Station. Considering they get the licence money, advertising money and Sky money it’s amazing they still can’t employ people that would seem to know anything outside D4 and shopping malls in management and Unionheads for labour. We have a log up here for the daily cock-up on RTE which is growing all the time. It has to be said…that amongst European broadcasters RTE have the reputation of being an over-funded greedy amateur joke. I won’t get into their protectionist policies which mean that Irish film and content makers will get their programs shown anywhere in the world apart from Ireland.
OK…rant over. You hit me with RTE cockups before breakfast..lol.
Keep it up ‘em..
