  1. Conan Drumm says:

Did you read this from the CPP (like our DPP): “Our test is always whether there is sufficient evidence for a realistic prospect of conviction; it would be wholly wrong only to bring cases where we were guaranteed a conviction.”

So evidence is not about guilt/innocence, it’s about the likelihood of securing a conviction against someone, even if they’re innocent?

  2. Twenty Major says:

That’s an incredible quote, isn’t it?

  3. Talking Snake says:

Keith Chegwin definitely has a naughty streak. He joined the St John Ambulance Brigade, “not with the intention of saving lives but of saving a space at Liverpool’s football ground for top matches. I got thrown out for standing on their one and only ping pong ball. They said I’d done it on purpose. After I threatened to knock out everyone in the group, to see how good they really were at First Aid, I was given my marching orders.”

(From his autobiography, “Shaken But Not Stirred”)

Could it have been Garry Glitter?! He’s been released soon as well you know……

  5. porridge says:

Mr Clegg told jurors: “The only reason that the prosecution say that this is the work of the local loner, the local nutter, the man with these serious psychological problems, is because that is the man they arrested.”

nothing like having your defence solicitor on your side

    Should read: “He’s being…..”

  7. Walls says:

I don’t think any Irish person is surprised that the English Legal System makes mistakes. But it does mean that the person who killed her is still out there. It’s still a mystery to many folks as to why she was killed in the first place…

  8. Twenty Major says:

She did seem quite harmless, in fairness.

  9. Verbal Kunt says:

    I cannot hear or read anything about this case without Abba coming to mind;

“did you see the gun Jill Dando”

  10. V says:

I can’t even remember what Jan Dildo was famous for..

  12. Jo says:

but she was being stalked, wasn’t she? Was he the guy stalking her? This is why I wouldn’t be in favour of a death penalty – I read a story in the Times, maybe last weekend? about a couple in the states who’d been wrongly convicted of murder. He’d been killed in a disgusting, horrific botched execution and she’d spent thirty something years in prison – he small children had had to go live with their grandparents, who also died and so they were taken in to care. It was a horrible story.

  13. It might just have been a game of Cheggers Plays Pop gone dreadfully awry.

  14. Personally I’ve never trusted that Noel Edmonds. That’s a murderous beard if ever I saw one.

  15. Fill3rup says:

I would imagine it was a case of mistaken identity (Dando being shot),it looked like a professional hit..
I dont think the truth will come out for a very long time if ever..

  16. Sniffle&Cry says:

No PCB, it was Des Lynam, Noel Edmonds shot Princess Diana – she was shot, it’ll come out eventually…….

  17. Hooronahonda says:

She seemed like a nice woman, God love her.

  18. Monkey Balls says:

    It’s fuckin’ potent!

  19. Jo says:

I got left behind for a bit there, so I’ll repeat myself – is everyone reading B’dum’s blog? Young he may be, but it’s mighty. http://positiveboredom.blogspot.com/

  20. Holemaster says:

Hey Jo (where you going with that gun in your hand) sorry, that just comes to mind when I type hey jo.

He was a big time stalker but he wasn’t stalking her, just about a hundred other women though. He’s obviously a bit of a sad case but probably not the guy.

My money is on Jimmy Saville, he’s just plain odd.

  21. Alan Smithee says:

“They painted an image of Mr George approaching a series of women on the streets of Fulham.

The prosecution told the jury Mr George was a celebrity and gun-obsessed stalker with a grudge against the BBC, where he had worked as a messenger for a short time in the past.

He was said to have photographed hundreds of women and was described as a fantasist who told people he was the cousin of the late Queen singer Freddie Mercury.

When police searched his home in Crookham Road, officers found 2,248 photographs he had taken of women.”

The cunt deserved 8 years for that alone.

  22. Holemaster says:

    Did he?
    Did he?

  23. Alan Smithee says:

Aye, aye. (I have no idea how that happened.)

  24. Jo says:

    It was effective nonetheless!

  25. Puerile Pish says:

I think he did it, just some of the forensic evidence was ruled out.

  26. SuperGrover says:

I did it. Got away with it, all the same. Sweet.

Now, where does Linda Martin live?

  27. SG, click on my name. She’s let herself go a bit.

  28. Dobharchu says:

“So who did kill Jill Dando?”

    Jeeze, Twenty, it’s obvious.

    Some fucking cunt did it.

  29. SuperGrover says:

Looks better than usual. Must be airbrushed.

  30. manuel says:

Our (FC UNITED) first goalkeeper was called Barry George. The song for him went, “He wants the word to know he didn’t kill Dando. Free Barry George.” It was a great song…..

  31. Twenty Major says:

Yeah, but it’s somehow associated with Manchester United which makes it worse than raping a child.

  32. You mean Keith Chegwin’s not locked up? Fuck.

  34. haddock says:

It was a case of mistaken identity, someone said “why doesn’t someone shoot that fucking vacuous blonde bitch that’s always on television”…. such a wide choice there…. actually that fucking Anthea Turner was the intended target, now her removal would have been popular.

  35. Informer says:

Jill Dando was murdered by a professional hitman in a “planned and carefully executed” attack that may have been ordered by the notorious Serbian warlord Arkan in revenge for the Nato bombing of a TV station in Belgrade, it was suggested yesterday at the Old Bailey.

Just ask the guys that setup Veronica and you’ll probably get a good answer lads and laddettes. She was setup by black ops and used to put the fear out to other women in the communications median. The message: increase your security or this happens! We will never catch them, same as the state punishers masquerading in the North as paramilitaries killing SETUP targets to send a message of fear to the masses, we can only pray it is not one of us next….(Now the X-Files music stands playing).

  36. Sniffle -

You know perfectly well it was Mother Teresa who killed Princess Diana.

  37. Grimy Miner says:

    Video killed the radio star
