Look, the easier you make it for underage people to get drink, the faster and younger they’ll get it. You may not see a problem with that but I do and so do millions of other Irish people.

Nobody wants to be a killjoy and personally, I think sneaking cans out of the house at the tender age of 16 is a wonderous hobby. But subjecting <18 year olds to relentless marketing & endless alcohol sources is pissing on the electric fence stupid.

Twenty Agree about the drinking laws its a a bad solution and not going to fix anything. They have more liberal drinking laws in the middleeast and no problem so its not the opening or access that causes the problems in Ireland.

In lebanon I can get a drink 24 hours a day, most pubs stay open until the small hours and even when one does close there is another one open. I could not beleive the mass approval for the new regulations on the every radio station and form most newspapers.

Regarding Bertie now your just sounding like an bitter ugly man , After 31 years even he deserves a going away speach.

Oh and half way through the book , its not the best but also better than a lot. Look forward to finishing on the plane.

Spirits must be restricted to 12am-10/11pm. And cheap, massive-margin, piss standard imports should be banned. Retail law relating to low alcohol drink should be relaxed though.

ChanChan: I’d nearly agree with you except the lime fad started out of necessity. In ‘Meh-hico’, the bastard flies hate lime and so stop buzzing around your beer allowing you to eat your tacos in peace. In Ireland we don’t really have flies so it’s merely a man-cocktail.

Twenty: I have no problem with the average man getting cans at any time of the night. In fact, get a slab. However, every shop in sight selling triple strength Polish absinthe must be stopped. Dead right twenty, im sure you can do all those things if you know where to go but it should be a lot easier.
Im concerned about the huge rise in corona drinking cunts recently.
If you put a lime in any beer it tastes the same. Corona without lime tastes like the piss that is budweiser.

They are all posers who think they are being sophisticated.

And despite what ye all say. They need to reduce the number of places where you can buy drink. You shouldn’t be able to buy a litre of vodka at a fuckin Esso and SPAR shouldn’t have 50 different types of beer! Come on?

Fuck that.

It is 2008. Give me one good reason why I can’t buy whatever I like, wherever I like at whatever time I like.

If I want to go for a beer at 5.30am, not that I ever do, why can’t I? If I want to buy a bottle of wine at 11.30pm, why can’t I?

Why can’t I buy beer at a garage or a SPAR or anywhere else? You can do it all over Europe, why shouldn’t I be able to here?

I totally agree. I thoroughly enjoy converting Corona, Singha and Budvar into urine but 16 year old lads in A&E with stomachs full of whiskey is not on. Neither is girls throwing up on streets and pissing themselves. Where’s the upside of that?
