How the book cover came about

Posted on | March 18, 2008 | 30 Comments

With thanks to Mulleythis was all new to me too.

Apart from the bit where I posed like Kate Winslet in Titanic with my tits out. He managed to make it less sexy though, which is quite the achievement.

I spotted the book in the shop the other day. I read a random page (having read the taster intro here already) and almost gave meself a hernia trying to stop my self falling around with laughter.
I’ll read another page next weekend. Promise.

Fascinating stuff, Twenty. I hope he was paid extra for making you look considerably younger?

I was genuinely taken aback by what you look like in real life, I was expecting a more nerdy type. You look so rough (I mean that in the nicest possible way). All in all I’d say the illustration does you justice. Did the guy know what you looked like before he drew you?

I’m curious to see what all you blogger folk look like I must say. I should have turned up at the blogger awards and taken pictures of everyone.

Why don’t you all do your best illustration of what you think Twenty looks like and we’ll judge the best!

Hodder Headline commissioned me to do an illustration for the cover of Twenty Majors first book the order of the Phoenix based on characters from his profanity filled popular blog: twentymajor.net

At least he got the title right on the cover itself.
