As Mulley points out the Independent, if we didn’t know already, is a quite reprehensible rag.
Depsite what they’d have you believe the reason beaut.ie is down is nothing whatsoever to do with Katy French. But then if the Indo, while sitting on its high horse, can squeeze a little more scandal and salaciousness into a story about a 24 year old girl who died you know they’ll do it.
I don’t even have to words to sum up how dreadful I think they are. Hang on, I do. They’re worse than Damien Rice.

Isn’t it ironic that the Independent took time to slate a Daily Mail journalist when the Evening Herald (owned by Independent Newspapers) delighted in highlighting Katy French’s alleged cellulite as she got out of the car to attend her own birthday party? They even circled the parts of her leg so we could be sure to see it.
And it’s also slightly ironic that one of their own journalists did pretty much the same thing as the girl from the Mail but without the byline free backlash.
What a pack of cunts.
Just to to make it clear can we keep comments on topic which is the Independent, and what a pack of cunts they are, and not Katy French about whom enough has been said already?

It’s just shameful that people who died like that are ‘used’ by the media, with no regard to the bereaved. I fundamentally disagree with illicit drug-taking, but the media doesn’t go after the dealers or politicians (more generally) in case they end up with a bullet in the head. Thanks for the support twenty – and porridge I totally get what you mean, but the sad fact of the matter is we don’t want to be associated with that story and the way it’s been blown out of all proportion. It absolutely does matter what she died of for two reasons.
1) because that will determine how most people view the events. The point is this – Katy French was a good looking girl with her life and a successful career ahead of her and what happened could be a tragedy (if she had an underlying heart problem for example) or a wilful waste of life (if it was a result of a drugs overdose).
2) Gradually people are realising that cocaine can kill. It doesn’t have to be a ‘bad batch’ or cut with rat poison to do so. And suddenly its the middle and upper classes that are suffering and whether we are comfortable with the fact or not we tend to believe its only the lowest of the low that drugs are going to kill. So now that a high profile person has died maybe people will cop the fuck on and realise that coke doesn’t discriminate according to class.

Like I said, people tend to assosiate drug deaths with heroin. And by implication, lower class or vunerable people. (and no i’m not looking down on these people, its pretty accurate even if its generalising). People think being middle class is like some sort of protective shield. So NO, NOT EVERY FOOL KNOWS THAT COCAINE CAN KILL.
People don’t think it’ll happen to them for various reasons, the cunt giving the line is in a suit, has a successful job, is middle or upper class, says its safe, offers them a nice glass of champagne as well, they’re in a safe nice expensive club…whatever the reason. Chances are their dealer isn’t wearing a baseball cap, stinking of piss or in a baseball cap hiding in an alley so as not too attract attention. Assosiation is a powerful thing, ask any marketer.
Phil Lynott took heroin, Janis Joplin – overdose of heroin, Jim Morrison – heroin. I’m sure they took a lot of other shit as well but heroin or heroin related illnesses is what killed them.
As for legalisation, I say legalise weed. Anyone who wants it can grow it themselves without their money going to some crowd of murdering cunts just some nice bearded man with a shop in Canada or Holland, they aren’t going to synthesise some poisonous chemical by mistake (they can grow it organically if they want for fucks sake) and there has never been ( as far as I know) any report of a death as a direct result of smoking honest to goodness weed.

Last week as Katy first fell ill the Indo delighted in telling us how she had stolen the crown and usurped Glenda Gilson’s place as Ireland’s leading model, and favourite person and all that.
Then she died.
Then in Sundays Sunday Independent Life Magazine there are no less (i tell no fibs) than 14 pictures of Glenda Gilson.
And the machine rolls on.

i used to read the independant, but then i noticed those articles from gavin lambe arsehole and i thought to myself “what’s this shit doing in a paper?, this doesn’t even belong in OK magazine”.
Now with all this bullshit of daily coverage of this, they can fuck right off.
