I don’t know Joe O’Reilly but do know his brother , played gaelic with him here in Derry. Seriously nice lad who’s had to endure years of shite. Be nice to remember that no matter what people may think of Joe , his family from what I know are good people. And how many of you who hide behind the anonymity of the internet would have the balls to say some of the shite you’ve come out with to his family face to face??? His brother’s a nice quiet lad , but strong as an ox and not a small fella either…

Take a moment to consider the role the media had in all of this. How many times do you see the spouse of a murder victim on live tv days after the murder? RTE have been gloating about their role in bringing O Reilly down, Pat Kenny quote “this has been the highlight”
I really think that RTE knew a lot more about this case than they are letting on they know when they dragged O Reilly in for the live interview.
The Garda and RTE have a great relationship, don’t be fooled by the power of the Media. How easy would it have been to frame O Reilly? Think about it, he is a fool. Have the Garda the media jailed a fool or criminal?
What other motives may the media have, why did the Garda need an instant suspect.

To “Stupidpeopleshould’nt breed” you cannot have a lawyer on a jury or anyone who has any legal training as they would be completely prejudiced to matters of law and I dont think thats the idea! Also I have to assume that “Nemo” is either related to that toe rag Joe O’Reilly or is a wannabe!! I think Joe O’Reilly’s sister should have been charged with incitement to hatered sounds like she looks, a complete weapon.

All I was doing ‘twenty major’ was expressing my opinion which is what I thought these forums were about..and on the evidence that was given through out that trial I don’t think the verdict was the right one. As for your comment about the dumbbell, and my family not suffering the same way which I hope they never have to, did that actually come up in court or is that your perception from the papers? From my recollection there was nothing in the trial about a dumbbell therefore you have based your opinion on the fucking rags…where as I have based my opinion on the trial.

Here is one to throw the cat among the pigeons…Rachel Callaly’s (as they want her to be remembered as) family have fought tooth and nail to have her maiden name on her headstone and have had a long battle that seems to be coming to an end. That really makes me wonder why on the front of the book her mother has written about her memories of Rachel has ‘the life and brutal death of Rachel O’Reilly’..why is it not Rachel Callaly?
