Last month, whilst staying with my parents in England, I awoke to a right commotion. I stepped outside my bedroom to find my mum in some distress and my dad with his hand down the toilet. Imagine my surprise!

It turns out that my mum had gone to the toilet, and had then stood, turned around, only to find a swallow drowning in the the toilet bowl (the little blighter was also covered in piss).

The swallow later died of natural causes (fright may have been one of them I'd wager)....but what a way to go! We never did figure out how it found its way to the unlikeliest of last-stands but the best guess is that it came down the chimney and made its way through the house before splash-landing in the bog.

I doubt that he was being nosey, but if he was then what a price to pay!
